~Where Can I Serve?~

Jesus told us to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Cornerstone Worship Center is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to many nations.  CWC members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as foundational as greeting those who come to worship with us, to distributing food to the needy of our community on Fridays, to traveling to the nations. We encourage you to join us in fulfilling the Great Commission and find your place of service at Cornerstone Worship Center.

Missions Outreach

AFRICA

Cornerstone Worship Center is thrilled to be part of spreading God’s kingdom to the nations. We are diligent in our overseas work, especially in Ghana, West Africa, where with God’s help over more than 20 years, we have built schools, conducted medical outreaches, fed children and planted over a hundred churches. In addition, in recent years, great doors have opened for large evangelistic crusades in Uganda.

THE PHILIPPINES

Additionally, doors have opened in the Philippines where we partner with the worldwide “Jesus Reigns” Movement and multiple local ministries across the nation. Our outreach to pastors and local churches continues to bear fruit as we partner with sister churches to spread the gospel to the outlying villages. To see Our Philippines Outreach

NEPAL

We have been so thankful for the doors that have opened in the last few years in Nepal, where partnership with local pastors there has resulted in the birthing of 6 local churches, with opportunties for many more. Nepal is a challenging mission field, but one where we do take teams of those who feel called to go into all the world!

PAKISTAN

In just the last several months, doors have also swung open in Pakistan! Currently the ministry has been Zoom Video Outreach to villages where Pastor Joe is able to preach to remote villages via a mobile Internet connection. Many have already received Christ and an actual mission trip to Pakistan is planned for the near future. PTL!

Additionally, CWC has been reaching to touch the hearts of some of the most needy in our own community, by raising up and sending ministers of the gospel into our jails. This is powerfully led by Rev. Vonna Ossenbeck. You may seek her out to learn what is required to be a part of this outreach.

 Cornerstone Outreach Center

Kaye Cross

Kaye Cross

Cornerstone Outreach Center is an extension of the church’s missions vision and is in its 21st year feeding and caring for the poor in Amarillo. Each Friday hundreds are ministered to when they hear the gospel preached and receive much needed groceries. We feed and help  over 26,000 people in each year, reaping many souls for the Kingdom, seeing many healed and set free.  We can also provide prayer support and some pastoral counseling.  We have employment counselors available, as well. For more information, click here. You may also see Kay Cross to volunteer.

God is calling for laborers in these last days, and we encourage you to rise up and respond to Him, whether it means that you travel to a foreign country or live and minister for Him in your own community. Let us go into all the world!

Music, Drama & Dance

Pastor Jacquie Kirkwood

Preparing a habitation for the Lord through worship is a mandate upon CWC. Our church members joyfully get involved in our music and drama/mime ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in our seasonal choir. Still others get involved in drama and expressive dance. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Cornerstone Worship Center, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. To find out more about Dance & The Arts, see Leslie Sanders.

For Worship Team Policies and an audition see Pastor Jacquie Kirkwood.

Ushers & Greeters

Mike Cates

The ushering team at Cornerstone Worship Center fills an important role. They are involved in helping attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety and security of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The ushering ministry is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life. See Mike Cates to participate.

 media tv-540x238-q80Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a true priority at Cornerstone Worship Center. We have a mandate from the Lord. He has instructed us to “noise abroad” the miraculous things He has been doing in our midst.  In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. On our Media Page, you can find access to our YouTube Channel and our directory of uploaded Sermon podcasts. We are now streaming live video of our services to the internet via Facebook and YouTube, as well as providing archived videos of our services there. These videos are also being picked up by a sister ministry with whom we partner in Uganda and broadcast over the air from their television network. We maintain an active Facebook Page, and there you can find additional church communication and the most up to date happenings in the life of our community of brethren, as well as this website. Access to our Mobile App may be found on this website’s homepage, as well as in your favorite app store. With all of our dreams for media ministry, we are going to need a lot of help. If you have background and experience in media and technology, we have a place for you. Contact Pastor Joe Kirkwood or Pastor Tim Elliott.

   Prayer Warriors

The importance of prayer cannot be overstated. Faith through prayer moves the hand of God. Cornerstone Worship Center is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereign power released through prayer. Each Sunday at 9:00am, prior to the morning service, Wednesdays at 6:00pm and on Thursdays at Noon, a team of volunteers are praying for the ministry of the Word, the move of God’s Holy Spirit in our church family, as well as, in our our community, nation and around the world. We invite you to join them. Additionally, throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.

Children’s Ministry

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Cornerstone Worship Center holds a children’s church service on Sunday in conjunction with the main service in the “Nautilus” Submarine theme Kids Church. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that is suited to their age and learning styles.  Our friendly children’s church volunteers flow in  an endless stream of creativity, ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons. The children sometimes begin with the adults in the main service for a portion of the worship, sitting together in their own section. They then, dismiss to the Children’s  Church area, at their teacher’s discretion. We believe it is a powerful model for our children to observe their friends and family, to whom they look up, worshiping God before they adjourn to the more relaxed atmosphere of the the Children’s Ministry area.

Our loving Nursery with its massive Noah’s Ark for the children to climb and play on is always in need of helpers, to care for God’s littlest and sweetest lambs.  See Charona Cates, if you would like to serve in our Nursery.
